Education
I just finished my fourth year at Brock University and I have completed a honours degree in History. I am currently finishing off my English minor. In September I will be entering my final year in the Concurrent Education program and will graduate with a Bachelor of Education degree. I have made the Dean's Honour List every year at Brock. My current average for the past four years is 84%.
Experience
As a Concurrent Education student, I have had placements in a Grade 7 class as well as several short term experiences at the high school level. Although I have never formally tutored before, I have helped my cousins with their school work when I babysat them for two years. They were in Grades 1, 5 and 7. I spent this past year as a Senior History Mentor as part of a mentorship class offered by the History department at Brock. I was paired with a third year student and helped that student achieve academic and personal success. I want to be a tutor because I feel it will be good practice for my teaching career. I care about children and want students to achieve academic success so that they can achieve their long term goals. I always enjoyed school and learning, and still do. I want to pass on the passion I have for school, especially in the areas of history and english, to others so that they can learn more about their personal areas of interest.

Hobbies
I am an easygoing and personable person who loves to spend time with others. I love to read, especially anything in the fantasy or history genre. I have recently developed an interest in comic books and graphic novels. I like the combination of the written word with the visual display. I am also a big fan of movies, with my two top favourite trilogies being Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. My favourite way to spend the evening is home with a couple friends, cooking dinner and watching a movie together. I am close to my family, especially my sister who is two years younger than me. My favourite place to be is at my cottage where I spend my time hiking, swimming, taking photographs and reading.
