I am currently a lead preschool teacher, and my job is to basically prepare the preschoolers for kindergarten. I figured that if I am capable of teaching my preschoolers kindergarten readiness skills, that I will be capable of working one on one with preschoolers to help them with their kindergarten readiness skills. I have also taught/tutored a family member with their kindergarten readiness skills, in which they proved successful. They even knew third grade site words when they were in the first grade. I have also tutored this family member in math, spelling, and writing which has also proven successful. I want to become a tutor because I love helping young child with their learning, especially in the early childhood grades. I feel that if a child is struggling with a certain topic that one on one help would be needed perhaps to help the student gain mastery of this subject by devoting my time to the student only, even allowing or creating lessons specifically for them in their learning styles.
